You’ll spread lots of cheer with a Banker Bill’s Dozen of our huge, delicious, fresh baked doughnuts!
“If a man can write a better book, preach a better sermon or make a better mouse trap than his neighbors, though he builds his house in the woods, the world will make a beaten path to his door.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
At Hole Lotta Doughnuts, we started our home-style bakery with the belief that sometimes it isn’t doing something better than anyone else, but doing it the proven, old-fashioned way. While most doughnuts are mass produced, with even neighborhood doughnut shoppes using automation and mechanical depositors, we decided against that in favor of not cutting corners to produce the largest, best tasting doughnuts to be found in the West Jefferson, North Carolina area. And guess what? Our doughnuts and fritters have exploded in popularity, to say the least, so we surmise that perhaps Ralph Waldo Emerson had the right idea.
We also decided that if we were to put exceptional effort into our doughnuts, we had to keep it simple. You won’t find a zillion types of doughnuts here. Our yeast doughnuts come in glazed with a choice of chocolate, regular, and peanut butter dream glaze. Most days we have a special glaze flavor, too, so be sure to stop in each day to find out what they are! You can also choose to dress up your doughnuts with free sprinkles.
Besides incredible flavor, an advantage of making handcrafted yeast doughnuts is that we can make them much larger than standard doughnuts – and we do! As Butch Phillips has to say on the subject, “We wanted to do something unique. Let’s make them big; it’s more fun that way. It also gets people’s attention. The most common thing I hear is, ‘It’s the size of a tractor tire,’ but when they taste it, they stop thinking about how big it is and focus on how good it is.”
Stop by one of our locations today and find out for yourself. Be warned—you’ll need some muscles to take a box of Banker Bill’s Dozen with you! (We’ll even toss in 3 free doughnut holes that you won’t have to share.)
